This is a food blog for busy people - both cooks and want-to-be-cooks! I will share tips on how to serve delicious food while making the most of your time, money and/or calories. I'd also love to answer questions on these topics.
Hello, Gina! I recently returned from a trip to Gatlinburg, TN and had plenty of green beans prepared my favorite way. My problem is that I would love to know the recipe to prepare green beans the "country" way so that I could enjoy them at home as well, but I have been unsuccessful so far in determining what makes them so delicious. Besides green beans, often bits of ham are present, as well as potentially vinegar and pepper. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks for your help!
I can’t wait to try some of your recipes! I often try to substitute lower fat/calorie ingredients, but inevitably my family notices and scoffs. Any tricks to hiding healthier ingredients would be appreciated!
I have an old recipe I'd like to see if you can make healthier. It's called Beef Porcupines!! Mix 1 pound ground beef, 1/2 c raw rice, 1/2c chopped onion, 1/2 t garlic salt and 1/4 t pepper and shape into 12 meatballs. Fry in hot oil, turning frequently until golden brown on all sides. Pour one 8 ounce can tomato sauce and one can water over the meatballs, cover and simmer for 45 minutes. Thanks!!
